Limits

• Enter relevant words or phrases contained anywhere within the bibliographic records.
• Relevance is primarily based on the weighting of Title, Subject, and Author fields in that order. Other aspects of weighting in your search result set may involve frequency of occurrence and the proximity of your search terms in the record.
• " " surround exact phrases: "gone with the wind"
• + marks essential terms: +chemistry +molecular
• ! eliminates terms: dogs !cats
• ? truncates: chemis? --> finds chemist, chemists, chemistry, etc.
• EXAMPLE: +conference +"chemical engineer?" !foundation?

• Enter standard subject or name headings: molecular biology.
• Enter all of the subject heading or the initial part of the heading: molecular bio.
